Our mission is to offer a compassionate refuge for neglected plants, alleviating any sense of guilt from their previous caretakers. Through tender care and revitalization, we breathe new life into these green companions, preparing them to thrive in new homes where they can spread joy and flourish.
In doing so, we cultivate a community where every plant discovers its ideal sanctuary.
Our Vision
Our journey began in Winter 2021 when I rescued a neglected monstera philodendron. This sparked the realization that many others also possess unwanted plants. Whether due to pet safety concerns or simply mismatched preferences, everyone deserves a guilt-free way to part with their green companions.
At Black Thumb Sanctuary, we cherish the dual significance of our name. It’s a haven for those grappling with ‘black thumbs,’ where plants are nurtured with care. As a proud Black individual with my own ‘Black thumbs,’ my plants offer solace.
